New Hobby, New Toys
I have been in search of a hobby over the course of the past several years; a hobby that would draw me away from my existing love of computers and the web, and allow me to venture into the outside world in pursuit of creating something tangible and fulfilling. I recently decided that I would take up photography as my extra curricular activity. I have been a dabbling amateur for quite some time now, shooting off hundreds of photographs during my cross-country excursions, however, I have never taken the time to invest in educating and equipping myself for this purpose. Like any tech junkie, I researched the proper equipment for months, ogling and pining after everything from the pro-gear, to the modest just above amateur stuff.
I finally decided upon the Canon Rebel EOS XSi with a few lenses to start me out: the Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS USM as well as the 50mm f/1.8 II prime and the kit Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. I have been very happy about each of these purchases, and am chomping at the bit to get out and take more pictures and explore the nation's capitol with my new toys.
